Kamloops man arrested after alleged theft in Lower Sahali

KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 after being arrested Saturday (Aug. 7) night.

The incident began when RCMP received a theft report from a business on the 1100-block of Columbia Street West just before 7 p.m.

Multiple units attended in response. RCMP say the man, who is well-known to police, was found and arrested at Sixth Avenue and Victoria Street. He is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today (Aug. 10).

Anyone who witnessed the alleged theft or has information related to the investigation is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file number 2021-27321.
