Evacuation order rescinded for 60 properties impacted by Sparks Lake wildfire

KAMLOOPS — Evacuation orders issued over a month ago (June 29 and 30, and July 4) have been downgraded to evacuation alerts.

Late Saturday (Aug. 7), the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) partially rescinded evacuation orders for 60 properties in the Copper Desert Country area – near Tranquille Valley and Red Lake – that were impacted by the Sparks Lake wildfire northwest of Kamloops.

Residents in the following properties may return home:

  • 5688 to 10020 Deadman-Vidette Rd.
  • 4000 Leblond Rd.
  • 2932 to 2964 Sabiston Creek FSR
  • 7900 and 8185 Seven Lakes Rd.
  • 4595 to 8092 Tranquille-Criss Creek Rd.
  • other properties as outlined in orange on the attached map
