Evacuation Alert Lifted
Whitecroft properties given all clear as Embleton Mountain wildfire is being held

KAMLOOPS — An evacuation alert has been rescinded to give the all clear for 153 properties near Whitecroft.
The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) stated on Tuesday (Aug. 3) that the 991-hectare Embleton wildfire no longer poses an imminent risk to the safety of residents. This comes after the B.C. Wildfire Service said on Sunday (Aug. 1) that the Embleton fire is being held and is no longer considered a wildfire of note.
The properties affected by the initial evacuation alert include
- 7305 to 7408 Cahilty Cres.
- 3208 to 3229 Cahilty Pl.
- 7116 to 7200 Cahilty Rd.
- 2720 to 4361 Heffley-Louis Creek Rd.
- 6225 Lake Bay Rd.
- 3240 to 3260 McGillivray Creek Rd.
- 3140 Strachan Rd.
- 3220 and 3272 Sun Peaks Rd.
- 6100 to 7046 Upper Louis Creek Rd.
- any other properties within the boundary noted on the attached map
