Kamloops RCMP investigating semi-trailer truck collision and fire
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are investigating after a semi-trailer truck caught fire along the Trans Canada Highway yesterday (Aug. 2).
Cst. Crystal Evelyn says at around 5:50 p.m, police were called to a vehicle incident involving two tractor-trailer trucks in the westbound lanes near the 1700-block of the West Trans Canada Highway.
According to the initial report, a truck caught fire after it rear-ended another truck. Kamloops Fire Rescue was on scene tending to the flames when RCMP arrived. Both truck drivers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Evelyn says the road was closed briefly while police collected evidence and reopened after the area was cleaned up.
