TNRD downgrades Evacuation Orders around Sparks Lake wildfire

KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Nicola Regional District has downgraded three Evacuation Orders around the Sparks Lake wildfire west of Kamloops.

An Evacuation Order for Electoral Area “J” (Copper Desert Country), which includes Red Lake, was originally put in place July 13. The area west of Alpine Valley as identified on the map below, has been downgraded to an Evacuation Alert.

Meantime a portion of an Evacuation Order issued for Electoral Area “J” (Copper Desert Country) has been downgraded to an Evacuation Alert for properties identified on the map below:

• 1280 to 2245 Copper Creek Rd;
• 2040 to 3672 Sabiston Creek Rd;
• 7788 to 7821 Savona Station Rd; and
• any other properties identified on the map.

TNRD / Evacuation Order Partially Downgraded to Alert – Sparks Lake Wildfire – Electoral Area “J” (Copper Desert Country)

The TNRD says the area along Sabiston Creek Forest Service Road remains on Evacuation Order.

In addition, a portion of an Evacuation Order issued in Electoral Area “J” (Copper Desert Country) has been downgraded to an Evacuation Alert for 74 properties identified below:

• 3328 to 3988 Copper Creek Rd;
• 3401 to 3433 McBride Rd;
• 3385 to 3493 Red Lake Dr;
• 3453 to 3473 Strom Pl;
• 8510 to 8660 Tranquille Criss Creek Rd;
• any other properties identified on the map below.

TNRD / Evacuation Order Partially Downgraded to Alert – Sparks Lake Wildfire – Electoral Area “J” (Copper Desert Country) and “E” (Bonaparte Plateau)

An Evacuation Order may need to be reissued; however, if that is deemed necessary, the Evacuation Order process will re-commence.
