One person sent to hospital after plane overturns on Kamloops Lake

UPDATE (3:40 p.m.): Kamloops RCMP responded to a report involving a small plane that was found upside down in Kamloops Lake near Frederick Road.

Cst. Crystal Evelyn said the lone occupant of the plane swam to shore with what appeared to be minor injuries before being transferred to hospital. She said the plane was moved to a safe spot in the water and the cause of the crash is under investigation.

B.C. Wildfire Service told CFJC Today the plane isn’t a firefighting aircraft.

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — A patient was transported to hospital following a plane incident west of Kamloops this morning (July 28).

BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) told CFJC Today it received a call at 9:33 a.m. for a report of a plane overturned in water near Frederick Road.

The patient was transported to Savona Cemetery Road where they were met by BC EHS paramedic crew and later transported to hospital in stable condition.
