TNRD partially downgrades evacuation order for seven Barnes Lake properties

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) partially downgraded an evacuation order Tuesday (July 27).

The evacuation order for seven properties near Barnes Lake in the Blue Sky Country due to the Tremont Creek wildfire is now an evacuation alert. Residents in the following properties may return home:

  • 2606 Kirkland Ranch Rd.
  • 2000 Hwy 97C to 2480 Hwy. 97C
  • any other properties located within the area noted on attached map
    (Thompson-Nicola Regional District).

Because of potential danger to life and safety, the evacuation order from July 14 remains in effect for the following 43 properties:

  • 3165 Barnes Lake Rd. to 3820 Barnes Lake Rd.
  • 2000 Hwy. 97C to 2480 Hwy. 97C
  • 4020 Studhorse Rd.
  • 1886 and 1924 Woods Creek FSR
  • 4380 Y D Ranch Rd. to 4499 Y D Ranch Rd.
  • any other properties located within the area noted on the attached map
    (Thompson-Nicola Regional District).

Should conditions change, the TNRD said an evacuation alert or order could be reinstated as necessary.
