Evacuation Order Lifted

Evacuation order mostly rescinded for District of Sicamous

KAMLOOPS — An evacuation order was partially rescinded by the Columbia Shuswap Regional District Monday morning (July 26).

Many properties in the District of Sicamous that were evacuated on July 20 due to the 1,000-hectare Two Mile Road wildfire are now on evacuation alert, and residents may return home.

However, residents must remain ready to leave their homes again on short notice.

The evacuation order remains in effect for:

• Sicamous Creek Mobile Home Park at 5 Highway 97A
• 800, 801, 803, 805, 807, 901 Graham Rd.
  (Columbia Shuswap Regional District).

Highway 97A remains closed until further notice. Residents are asked to check DriveBC for updates and to slow down and drive with caution as they return.
