TNRD issues one evacuation alert, adjusts existing alert and order

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) adjusted its evacuation orders and alerts Saturday (July 24) evening.

An evacuation order issued by the TNRD Emergency Operations Centre in Kamloops on July 21, due to the McKay Creek wildfire, was downgraded to an evacuation alert for three properties in the Bonaparte Plateau electoral area: 8410 Watson Bar Rd., 9180 West Pavillion Rd., and 9320 Empire Valley-Big Bar Rd.

The remaining properties are still on evacuation order.

Residents are encouraged to fill the gas tanks of their personal vehicles and bring a minimum of three days food and essential supplies as local grocery stores may not yet have adequate stock.

Elsewhere, the evacuation alert issued on July 15, due to the Brenda Creek Wildfire, was rescinded to all clear for three properties in the Beautiful Nicola Valley-North electoral area: 12305 Bear Creek Road FSR, 1306 Hatheume Lake Rd., 145 Pennask Lake Rd., and any other properties listed within the boundary noted on the attached map.

The TNRD said an evacuation order or alert could be reinstated as necessary should conditions chance.

And finally, an evacuation alert was issued in the Pimainus Lake area due to the North of Lytton wildfire.
