B.C. Wildfire Service: Cooler nighttime temperatures helping lower active fire count
KAMLOOPS — As of Sunday (July 25) morning, there are 257 active wildfires in B.C.
Provincially, it’s one fewer than Saturday but well down from nearly 300 earlier in the week.
B.C. Wildfire Service Fire Information Officer Noelle Kekula said the province hasn’t turned a corner on managing the wildfires yet, but there has been some natural temporary relief.
“We’re seeing cooler temperatures in the nighttime and that also increases our humidity,” Kekula said.
