Police investigating racist incident involving swastika
WEST KELOWNA, B.C. — RCMP are investigating after a swastika was spray-painted in a West Kelowna parking lot.
Police responded to a complaint of the symbol in a mall parking lot in the 500-block of Highway 97 on July 21 just after 5:30 p.m.
“The swastika was put directly behind the vehicle of a Jewish man, who was understandably very upset when he saw it,” Sgt. Joel Glen of the West Kelowna RCMP, said. “Racism of any kind has no place in our community and will not tolerated. We are conducting a fulsome investigation into this incident, and appeal to anyone who witnessed it to come forward.”
The exact time of this incident is not known, but is believed to have happened during the morning of July 21.
