Garand, Stankoven invited to Team Canada U20 summer development camp

KAMLOOPS — The Blazers’ deep pool of talent that’s been built up the last three years has led to a couple international appearances by its players, and there will likely be more.

On Tuesday, Hockey Canada extended the invite to Dylan Garand and Logan Stankoven to come to the U20 summer development camp from July 29 to Aug. 3 in Calgary.

Garand was the backup goaltender and made a couple appearances with Team Canada at last year’s world junior championships, where Canada lost in the gold-medal game to the U.S.

During the shortened hub season, Garand went 15-3 with the Blazers with 2.15 goals against average.

Meantime, Stankoven is fresh off his U18 gold medal with the Red and White in May, scoring the game-winning goal for the Canadians in the final against Russia.
