Evacuation order for 32 more properties due to White Rock Lake wildfire

UPDATE (7:05): An evacuation alert was issued for 165 properties in the Grasslands electoral area.

Affected properties include:

  • 2370 to 2912 Barnhartvale Rd
  • 2901 to 6975 Hwy 97
  • 4120 to 4249 Kristianson Rd
  • 3665 to 3862 Mill Rd
  • 3706 to 3909 Monte Lake Rd
  • 3928 to 5970 Paxton Valley Rd
  • 5209 Six Mile Creek Rd
  • 4294 Strong Rd
  • 5469 to 5545 Westlund Rd
  • any other properties within the boundary noted on the attached map
    (Thompson-Nicola Regional District).

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — An evacuation order was issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Emergency Operations Centre in Kamloops Tuesday (July 20) evening.

The alert was issued to 32 more properties due to the White Rock Lake wildfire located in the vicinity of Westwold. It’s threatening structures in the Grasslands electoral area.

Properties affected include:

  • 5300 to 5731 Back Rd
  • 6562 to 6580 Becker Rd
  • 6651 to 6778 Douglas Lake Rd
  • 6671 to 6919 Service Rd
  • any other properties within the boundary noted on attached map
    (Thompson-Nicola Regional District).

If you are in the described area, you must leave immediately. Emergency Support Services will only be provided if your primary residence is one of the properties under evacuation order.

There is currently no commercial lodging available in Kamloops. If your primary residence has been evacuated, please stay with friends or family for the night and then report to the McArthur Island Sports Centre, located at 1655 Island Parkway in Kamloops on July 21 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to register for Emergency Support Services.

Anyone who cannot stay with friends or family is asked to report to the Salvation Army Building at 1480 Sutherland Ave. in Kelowna for group lodging.
