Second-dose COVID-19 vaccination rate surpasses 50% for eligible British Columbians

VICTORIA — More than half of eligible British Columbians are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

New data released by the province’s Ministry of Health Monday (July 19) shows a 53.2 per cent second-dose vaccination rate for British Columbians 12 and older.

The first-dose rate for that demographic is 79.9 per cent.

The ministry reported 156 new cases of the virus over the past three days, including 58 within Interior Health.

There are 653 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. as of Monday, including 49 patients in hospital.
