Billie Eilish Growing Up
During an interview with Vogue Australia, published on Friday, July 16th, Billie Eilish opened up about what it’s been like to grow up in the public eye.
She told the magazine, “I said so many things then that I totally don’t agree with now, or think the opposite thing. The weirdest thing is how nothing ever goes away once it’s on the internet. Every interview I did when I was 15 is still out there, and I think about it constantly.”
One cringy moment she shared, was the time she time she accidentally quoted another artist in an interview. The “Bad Guy” singer admitted, “I did an interview where somebody said: ‘What are you doing when you’re not making music?’ And I said: ‘Even when I’m not making music, I’m making music.’ And actually, Lil Wayne said that in an interview and I just saw it and said it, too. And it’s not even true!”
The star added that she did try to keep some control over her image by wearing baggy clothes all of the time. However, she admits that her plan didn’t really work, saying, “It’s really hard to control the narrative in a position like mine, right? You can’t really control it that much, but you can try.”
