McGill Road-Columbia Street West intersection temporarily closing for construction
KAMLOOPS — The east side of the McGill Road-Columbia Street West intersection will be closed starting tonight (July 18) at 6 p.m.
It’s part of the Columbia Corridor Upgrades.
During daytime hours between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., the traffic signals at McGill Road and Columbia Street West will be turned off, and the intersection will be controlled by traffic control personnel. Westbound traffic on McGill Road will be permitted through the intersection, although, there will be no through traffic eastbound.
From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., the road will be fully closed to both eastbound and westbound traffic, with a detour in place via the Columbia Street West frontage road to Pemberton Terrace. Transit will also be detoured off McGill Road to Arrowstone Drive, with temporary stops in place.
