Vehicle incident closes southbound lanes on Coquihalla

UPDATE (3:25 p.m.): Drive B.C. said the southbound lanes are clear. Delays are still expected due to congestion. Drivers are asked to watch for traffic control.

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Major delays and congestion on the Coquihalla Highway are expected for today (July 17).

Drive. B.C. said a vehicle incident approximately halfway between Hope and Merritt has closed southbound lanes on Highway 5 for 106.6 kilometres – between one kilometre south of Merritt and one kilometre north of Hope. Northbound lanes are open

A detour is in effect via Highway 5A and 3.
