Royal Inland COVID-19 outbreak comes to an end; 21 of 45 new cases Friday in Interior Health
KAMLOOPS — Interior Health (IH) says a COVID-19 outbreak on 6 South at Royal Inland Hospital has officially been declared over.
The outbreak was first declared on June 30 and grew to 10 patient cases. No staff members were infected.
In a news release, Medical Health Officer Dr. Carol Fenton thanked RIH staff for their efforts to contain the outbreak.
“I really feel that the swift action and containment of this outbreak is a testament to RIH staff’s experience in COVID-19 outbreak management and also a demonstration in the effectiveness of the vaccines,” said Fenton.
