Village of Ashcroft, Ashcroft Indian Band under evacuation alerts

ASHCROFT, B.C. — After an evacuation alert was announced for Cache Creek earlier Wednesday afternoon (July 14), nearby Ashcroft and the Ashcroft Indian Band have followed suit.

At 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Mayor Barbara Roden authorized the alert, saying the nearby Tremont Creek wildfire poses a risk to structures.

The alert covers all properties in the Mesa subdivision, the downtown core and North Ashcroft.

The evacuation alert means residents should be ready to leave on very short notice.

The Ashcroft Indian Band is also asking residents to be ready to evacuate if necessary.
