Shuswap community of Seymour Arm placed under evacuation alert

SEYMOUR ARM, B.C. — The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District has put the community of Seymour Arm on evacuation alert.

The CSRD’s Emergency Operations Centre says the alert is due to the 230-hectare Hunakwa Lake wildfire, which was first noticed last Friday (July 9).

The Hunakwa Lake fire is south and east of Seymour Arm.

Residents of the community should be read to leave on very short notice.
