KAMLOOPS — Residents in Upper Aberdeen were witness to some excitement in the wee hours of Saturday (July 10), according to Kamloops RCMP.

Police were called to Crosshill Drive at about 12:40 a.m., with residents reporting a silver SUV that had been idling at that location for about 45 minutes.

When officers arrived, they found a woman slumped over the wheel, with the vehicle bearing license plates that had been reported stolen.

As police investigated, the woman awoke and put the SUV in gear, allegedly ramming the police cruiser situated in front of the SUV and then the cruiser parked behind. Officers say she then sped off toward Aberdeen Drive, the SUV taking out a fence in the process.
