TNRD issues evacuation order for 17 properties near Gladwin Mobile Home Park and Jade Spring

KAMLOOPS — An evacuation order was issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Emergency Operations Centre in Kamloops Tuesday (July 13) evening.

The order was issued to 17 properties in the Gladwin Mobile Home Park/Jade Springs area in the Blue Sky Country electoral area North of Lytton.

The properties affected are 1144 to 1820 Trans Canada Highway and any other properties within the boundary noted on the attached map.

Anyone who has these properties as their primary residence and requires Emergency Support Services is asked to report to the Salvation Army Building at 1480 Sutherland Ave. in Kelowna.

Elsewhere, the TNRD stated the evacuation order in Blue Sky Country North of Lytton would not be downgraded. The 53 properties affected include 1300 to 4025 Bontaine Creek Rd., 961 to 1005 McKay Rd., and any other properties within the boundary noted on the attached map.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation, although they may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
