Online art auction to benefit people impacted by Lytton wildfire
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops artists are raising their paintbrushes to raise funds for those impacted by the Lytton wildfires.
Kamloops Art Party is hosting an online art auction on Saturday (July 17). Proceeds from the auctions, along with Kamloops Art Party’s art piece and art kit sales, will go towards the Savage Society’s fundraiser to help displaced Lytton and area residents.
Carly Schmidt, Kamloops Art Party owner, said they’ve held art auction fundraisers in the past, typically every few months. She said there was no doubt that Lytton residents would be their next recipients.
“We do art parties in the Kamloops community. As well as that, we do communities inside the province. Being that one of those beautiful communities is lost totally hit home,” Schmidt said. “This time we’re trying to go a little bit bigger and help some more people. We look forward to doing basically whatever we can as artists.”
