Evacuation alert for Crooked Lake Area east of Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE — An evacuation alert was issued by the Cariboo Regional District Tuesday (July 13) for three parcels in the Crooked Lake Area east of Williams Lake.

The alert covers 7,447 hectares.

An evacuation alert has been issued to prepare residents to evacuate their premises or property should it be required.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation. However, they may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.

An interactive map shows which properties are affected. The wildfire east of McKinley Lake is an estimated 1,500 hectares in size and classified as out of control. B.C. Wildfire Service suspects it was person-caused.
