No injuries from weekend house fires in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) said no injuries were reported from a pair of house fires over the weekend.
On Friday (July 10), three engines and a rescue truck responded to 1214 Columbia St. as a fire got into the attic space of a home. Platoon Captain Shawn Davidson says crews attended the fire for more than two hours.
The following night, two properties near Brentwood Avenue and Seventh Street were affected by a fire. Davidson said it started on the exterior, burnt through the carport, and got into the attic space of one house. It took 14 firefighters to confine the fire to one section of the house, but Davidson said substantial damage was left.
KFR’s Fire Prevention Office was unavailable to comment on potential cause for the fires before publication.
