100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP in 100 Mile House say they have arrested a suspect in a case of serial dangerous driving.

In a news release, Staff Sgt. Svend Neilsen says for the past two weeks, the local detachment has received repeated complaints of a black 1995 Honda Accord speeding and driving dangerously in the area, especially along Highway 97.

100 Mile House RCMP and B.C. Highway Patrol members tried to pull the vehicle over on June 16, but the driver fled away at high speed.

After numerous complaints from the public, Mounties identified and arrested a suspect on Wednesday (July 7) at a home in Lac la Hache.

The 35-year-old suspect, who is known to police, was charged with a series of offences under the Motor Vehicle Act and slapped with a driving prohibition.

The Honda Accord was impounded, and two other vehicles on the property had their insurance revoked after being issued safety orders.

Even with the man charged, RCMP would like to know if you witnessed any other instances of a black 1995 Honda Accord with a plastic-covered rear window driving dangerously over the past few weeks. If so, call 100 Mile House RCMP at (250) 395-2456 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
