Blazers and Kamloops connection to Hockey Canada U-18 Summer Camp

KAMLOOPS — Two Blazers and another player who is from Kamloops have been named to the Hockey Canada Men’s Under-18 Summer Development Camp.

Mats Lindgren is among six defenseman from the Western Hockey League named to the camp, while Connor Levis is one of ten forwards.

Lindgren and Levis were both Blazers rookies last season.

Matthew Ward from Kamloops is also on the list of forwards.

Ward plays for the Swift Current Broncos.

A total of 45 players have been invited to the camp, scheduled for July 25 to August 4th at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on the Tsuut’ina Nation near Calgary.

The summer camp is typically used to evaluate and select Canada’s roster for the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, but Canada will not participate in this years event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, the tournament returns to the Czech Republic and Slovakia and will run from August 2-7.
