Kamloops Fire Rescue knocks down small fire in empty Tranquille business

KAMLOOPS — Shortly after 4:00 pm, Kamloops Fire Rescue was called to a structure fire in the 200-block of Tranquille Road.

The fire was first reported around 4:10 pm by a caller from a nearby building, which was later evacuated as a precaution.

Crews attended and knocked down the blaze quickly, which was burning in an empty storefront.

Firefighters shut down Tranquille Road as they tried to contain the fire.

It’s unclear what caused the fire or if anyone was injured.
