Province confirms many COVID-19 restrictions to be lifted Thursday

VICTORIA — B.C.’s government will move the province into Phase 3 of its Restart Plan on Thursday (July 1), according to government officials.

That means the lifting of many restrictions put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19, including mandatory mask-wearing in indoor public spaces.

The move also means personal gatherings will be allowed without restriction, capacity for indoor gathering is greatly increased, travel throughout Canada is allowed, and casinos and nightclubs may re-open.

Businesses will no longer be required to file safety plans with Worksafe B.C., as the agency is transitioning to more generalized communicable disease planning for businesses.
