NRGH pediatricians bust out their favourite moves

NANAIMO — Anyone paying a visit to the pediatrics department of Nanaimo Regional General Hospital in the last month saw something unexpected.

Everyone in the department practiced their dance moves and were filmed to create a music video for the worldwide hit Jerusalema, a song which sparked dance challenges across the world.

Pediatrician Jane Pegg told NanaimoNewsNOW she heard the song coming home one day and it energized her to dance.

Another pediatrician told her about the dance challenges and soon the department had a fun new goal.

“It’s been a tough year for all of us and I think it would bring together and make us laugh,” Pegg said. “Everyone who danced was happy they did.”

Some health care staff practiced diligently while others improvised in the moment. Most of the video was shot in brief moments of free time over the course of one month.

Pegg has now challenged other NRGH departments to film their own videos when they have time.
