North Shore vehicle fire under investigation

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle fire Aspen Street and Tranquille Road Friday (June 25) evening.
A Honda Civic was found with fire damage in the engine compartment. The flames were knocked down with a dry chemical extinguisher.
Platoon Captain Darryl Cooper said the fire is under investigation and there’s no report on what caused it. No injuries were reported.
Cooper added vehicles shouldn’t be any more susceptible to fire during a heatwave than they normally are. He encouraged residents to carry fire extinguishers in their vehicle, and to keep their vehicles are good working condition.
