Keenan wins gold at Canadian Olympic trials, doesn’t qualify for Tokyo

KAMLOOPS — Athletes who train at the Kamloops Track and Field Club finished one-two in the hammer throw at the Canadian Olympic trials.

Adam Keenan won gold with a throw of 72.87 metres. Unfortunately, Keenan didn’t make standard and doesn’t qualify for the Olympics in Tokyo.

Ethan Katzberg, a junior throwing against senior competitors was second for silver with a toss of 64.21.

Greg Stewart in the shot put will be the only Kamloops Track and Field athlete going to Tokyo, competing in the paralympics.
