Highway 1 west of Golden re-opening late Saturday after vehicle incident

KAMLOOPS — Highway 1 approximately 14 to 24 kilometres west of Golden is estimated to re-open at 8 p.m. Saturday (June 26).

Drive B.C. said a vehicle incident in the morning – where a vehicle caught fire – closed over nine kilometres of Highway 1 between Donald Road and Blaeberry River Road West. Drive B.C. said the highway is closed from Revelstoke to Golden and no detours are available.

Elsewhere, a wildfire emerged near Cornwall Road on Saturday that blocked both Highway 1 and 97C near Ashcroft. Drive B.C. also reported of a vehicle incident on Highway 97A near Mcleery Road between Enderby and Armstrong.
