UPDATE: Two seriously injured in Highway 5 collision near Little Fort

LITTLE FORT, B.C. — UPDATE (2:15 p.m.): RCMP say two people were seriously injured in a crash between a car and a commercial vehicle near Little Fort.

Cpl. Mike Halskov of B.C. Highway Patrol says the collision took place on Highway 5 at about 1:00 p.m., involving a Toyota Camry and a 10-ton tanker-type truck.

Halskov says there were four people in the Camry; two have been airlifted by B.C. Air Ambulance from the scene with serious injuries. He notes there was no word on injuries to the two other occupants or the driver of the truck.

Halskov confirms there were no fatalities at the scene.

Traffic is now getting through on a single-lane, alternating basis as authorities investigate and clean up the site.

EARLIER: Traffic is tied up on Highway 5 north of Barriere Thursday afternoon (June 24) after a serious crash.

RCMP report at about 1:00 p.m., a car collided with a transport truck around Little Fort.

Details of injuries have yet to be confirmed.
