Tobiano-area wildfire caused by burning vehicle now under control

TOBIANO, B.C. — A vehicle fire that spread to nearby brush near Tobiano Tuesday just before noon (June 22) has been brought under control.

The vehicle went up in flames on the shoulder of the Trans Canada Highway just west of Tobiano.

Flames quickly spread to some nearby brush, but firefighters responded quickly.

Fire Information Officer Aydan Coray says the blaze ended up at just 0.1 hectares in size.
