Hydro expects to weather heat wave

KAMLOOPS — B.C. Hydro says it expects to have enough reserves to weather the warm weather forecast for the next few days as temperatures rise to around 40 degrees by the weekend.
Contrary to the U.S., where heavy demand has left some power grids failing, Hydro’s Scott Mora says while there will definitely be pressure on the Western grid, he says there should be enough power to meet the demand. He says they are also forecasting normal reservoir levels across the province over the summer.
We could hit record levels the next few days. The warmest temperature ever recorded in Kamloops was 41.7 degrees. The warmest temperature recorded on this day (June 22nd) was 38.3 in 1958.
