TNRD lifts evacuation alert related to George Road wildfire

LYTTON, B.C. ā€” The evacuation alert south of Lytton in Electoral Area ā€œIā€ was rescinded to all clear Monday (June 21) morning.

Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) put the alert in place Thursday (June 17) in response to the threat of the George Road Wildfire. A statement from TNRD said the fire no longer poses an imminent risk to the safety of residents.

Should conditions change, TNRD said an evacuation alert or order could be reinstated. Residents can contact TNRD Emergency Operations Centre at 250-377-6302 for further information and assistance.

Lytton First Nation also lifted its evacuation alert.
