TNRD issues evacuation alert for ten Lytton-area properties due to nearby wildfire

LYTTON, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has put ten Lytton-area properties under an evacuation alert due to an encroaching wildfire.

The fire, called East of Skuppah, was first reported Wednesday and measures 60 hectares as of the noon hour Thursday (June 17), according to the B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS).

In a news release, the TNRD says the following properties are now under evacuation alert, meaning residents should be prepared to leave on very short notice:

  • 1210 George Rd
  • 1177 George Rd
  • 1180 George Rd
  • 1097 George Rd
  • 1060 George Rd
  • 1040 George Rd
  • 874 Trans-Canada Hwy
  • 838 Trans-Canada Hwy
  • 768 Trans-Canada Hwy
  • 752 Trans-Canada Hwy
