Missing mastiff found safe
KAMLOOPS — Some good news to report this morning. After missing for just under a week, a 170-pound English Mastiff named Sequoia has been found safe and sound.
The dog went missing last Monday (July 7). There had been some speculation she had been abducted, but she was found yesterday morning and rejoined her family after being treated for some nasty cuts. Other than being dehydrated, she was in good health.
During the week-long search, dozens of people, including RCMP officers, K9 support crews, friends and family assisted in efforts to find the big dog. It turned out Sequoia was found on a rocky cliff and was spotted when some rocks fell.
Family member Shelaigh Garson posted her thanks on Facebook last night. She said hundreds of people helped in the search. She says those heroes can’t be thanked enough.
