KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP brought a knife-wielding suspect into custody on a North Shore street Wednesday (June 9).
In a news release, spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says Mounties were informed that a federal warrant had been issued for a local man whose parole had been suspended for failing to comply with conditions.
Officers tracked the man down in the 600-block of Brandon Avenue.
Evelyn says he was uncooperative and wouldn’t drop a knife he was holding, but a jolt from an officer’s taser was ineffective. Instead, an officer was able to knock the knife away from him and he was placed under arrest.
