Wrong way on the highway leads to crash, impaired investigation

Just after midnight on Sunday morning, RCMP were called to a two-vehicle crash on the Trans Canada Highway near the Hillside Way on-ramp.

Investigators determined a vehicle had been driving eastbound in the westbound lanes when it collided with a westbound vehicle containing two occupants. No one was seriously injured.

Officers at the scene gave the driver of the eastbound vehicle a breath test, and it registered ‘fail’, meaning the driver’s blood-alcohol level was over .08. RCMP say the driver declined a second test.

RCMP gave the driver a 90-day driving ban and impounded the vehicle for 30 days.

Downtown business loses high-end bikes to thieves

Upon arrival, investigators found the perpetrators had tried to remove the building’s door from its hinges, then damaged an exterior wall in order to get inside.

The thieves took two high-end bicycles.
