Island Health sees rising COVID-19 cases for second day in a row
NANAIMO — The number of new cases being found in Island Health is rising after hitting a recent low.
The health authority confirmed 13 new cases on Wednesday, June 9, building off the nine confirmed the day before. This after Island Health saw only one or two new cases for much of last week.
Seven of the new cases were in southern Vancouver Island with five in the north and only one in the central Island area.
The number of active cases remains unchanged at eight in the central Island area. There are 41 active cases currently in Island Health.
