Nanaimo RCMP nab impaired driver after highway hit and run
NANAIMO — Police made short work of an impaired driver who fled the scene after an evening hit and run.
Emergency crews attended a scene on the Nanaimo Parkway near Mostar Rd. around 7:15 p.m. on Monday, June 7 after a red sedan was hit by a Ford Ranger pickup truck.
Cst. Gary O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW, evidence left behind at the scene allowed them to track the 34-year-old driver down.
“Investigative measures led us to a home in Lantzville where the driver of the pickup was identified and arrested for impaired driving. That vehicle was seized and the driver was issued with a 90-day driving prohibition.”
