Rally in support of Tk’emlups te Secwepemc expected near Highway 5 and Shuswap Road
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP is advising the public of traffic delays in the area of Highway 5 and Shuswap Road.
A large rally in support of Tk’emlups te Secwepemc is planned near the grounds of the Kamloops Residential School. Convoys of trucks from across the province — including Kelowna, Merritt, and Williams Lake — are expected to meet for prayers, drums and words at 11:30.
Drive B.C. also said a travel advisory planned between Highway 1 and Halston/Mt. Paul Road starting today from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Motorists are advised to expect high vehicle volumes and delays around Highway 5 North and Highway 1 Valleyview Interchange (Exit 374) to Halston/ Mt. Paul Road due to planned Solidarity Convoys.
RCMP asks driver to consider using an alternative route if possible.
