Transport Canada restricts drone activity above former Kamloops residential school
OTTAWA — Transport Canada has issued a NOTAM, or Notice to Airmen, regarding the are above the former Kamloops residential school.
The notice restricts all air traffic 500 feet above the site and below, including drone activity.
The agency publicized the notice on Twitter Friday morning (June 4), saying it was developed in collaboration with the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc.
The new directive comes after Tk’emlups announced the discovery of the remains of 215 children near the former residential school.
