NDSS in hold-and-secure after reports of youth who may have a weapon
NANAIMO — The largest school in Nanaimo is under a hold-and-secure due to reports of a youth with a weapon.
Nanaimo RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien said the order was put in place after students reported a youth on the grounds of NDSS who may have a weapon.
The call came in around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 4. The hold and secure was issued roughly 20 minutes later.
Police continue to search for the suspect, who is known to them. Officers are both inside and outside the school.
