KAMLOOPS — A B.C.-based hotel and resort chain is moving into the Kamloops market.

In a news release issued Thursday (June 3), Prestige Hotels and Resorts announced it has purchased the former Comfort Inn and Suites on Rogers Place in Aberdeen.

Prestige says the hotel will be closed until the end of September while its new owners undertake extensive renovations. The company also plans to introduce a new food and beverage operator to the hotel in the fall.

Company president Terry Schneider says Prestige has had its eyes on the Kamloops market for many years, and this will be its first-ever property in the city.
