Shooter in 2019 Brocklehurst murder given life sentence

KAMLOOPS — A man responsible for a 2019 Kamloops drug trade murder has been sentenced to life in prison.

Hugh McIntosh was convicted of first degree murder in March. McIntosh shot Jason Glover to death on Feb. 15, 2019, in a Brocklehurst apartment. A woman in the apartment was also targeted but survived.

In B.C. Supreme Court Monday (May 31), McIntosh received a life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years, mandatory for first degree murder. He was given a concurrent 12-year sentence for attempted murder of the woman.

McIntosh’s co-accused, Gordie Braaten, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Glover’s death, receiving a seven-year sentence in April.
