Missing Penticton woman found safe

KAMLOOPS — Thanks in part to efforts from a number of Search and Rescue groups, as well as police and first responders, a 26-year-old female missing in the Lac La Hache area was located alive and safe by an RCMP Air Services helicopter on Saturday just past 2 p.m.
According to 100 Mile House RCMP, Leah Buckner had gone for a hike and got disoriented.She didn’t panic, and located a power line, which she followed until she was spotted by the RCMP Air Services Helicopter, who found her about 5 kilometers from the spot she was last seen.
Buckner, from Penticton, was transported out of the area. She was not injured in the incident.
