Kamloops RCMP execute search warrant in police impersonation probe
KAMLOOPS — RCMP in Kamloops are asking for the public’s help as they look into allegations of police impersonation.
In a news release, spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says investigators in the detachment’s Targeted Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant Friday morning (May 28) related to the investigation.
Now, RCMP would like to speak to those who might have more information. That includes anyone who has reported a suspicious occurrence involving a potential police impersonator or anyone who had an interaction with another person or vehicle they suspected to be impersonating law enforcement.
“Even if that interaction occurred several years ago — if you feel someone approached you or pulled you over, but it wasn’t quite clear if they were in law enforcement, or if they indicated they were a police officer but something felt suspicious about the interaction, please contact us as soon as possible,” said Evelyn.
